Pauper is a 60 card, eternal Magic: The Gathering format where you play with only common cards. This includes old, new and downshifted cards, as well as powerful cards banned in other formats
It's a format loved globally for being wallet friendly, accessible, with a high skill ceiling. Games are usually played best-of-three over 50 minutes, and you can bring a sideboard of 15 cards to get an edge in your match.
High skill. Low budget. All common.

We believe Pauper is a fantastic form of entertainment, and should be available for anyone to access. We host our events with this ethos.
We feel very lucky to have met each other through this game, and strive to foster that welcoming environment for others.
Brighton Pauper League is wholly volunteer run. As a team we crowdsource decks, prizes and everything else that goes into running these special events.
The league is powered by player volunteers who organize events, manage standings, and keep the community thriving.
We play according to the official Pauper rules. Judging is handling casually between players, with the venue team on hand to help.
We share our love of pauper with match videos, deck and tourney write-ups, and a host of other engaging MTG content.
We collaborate with our local venues and the wider pauper scene in the UK to help be part of the nations growing common Magic the Gathering movement.
Our ever expanding deck library is available thanks to the generosity of our great members.
We have built a library of fun and competitive loaner decks available to borrow at every event. Come along and experience different styles of gameplay as much as you like.
Talk with our experienced players about what you'd like to try.
Play the deck all night, and return when you're done.
All decks in the library are tournament-legal and a examined regularly to keep them competitively viable.
